Proven Technology Makes Virtual Desktops a Reality for any Organization, even those with the Heaviest Applications

RES Software, the proven leader in dynamic desktop solutions, today announced that its RES Virtual Desktop Extender (VDX) is now available and shipping to customers exclusively as a standalone offering. Announced recently as a standalone solution, and on the heels of receiving European and United States patent approval, VDX enables enhanced interoperability with leading desktop virtualization solutions, including Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, VMware View and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, in addition to niche profile management solutions like AppSense Environment Manager. As a result, customers using a diverse mix of technologies at varying lifecycles in their terminal server and virtual desktop deployments, are able to easily merge local applications into users’ virtual desktops.

RES Virtual Desktop Extender provides organizations the unique ability to seamlessly enhance a virtual desktop with applications that run locally. Because applications that end users rely on are merged within a remote desktop into a single desktop, users have no need to switch between multiple sessions. VDX extends the user workspace through independent computing architecture (ICA) and remote desktop protocol (RDP) virtual channels.
