IGEL integrates Citrix Access Gateway client to manage access control and enable users to work securely from any location

Integration provides IGEL Linux customers access to the full range of functionality in Citrix Access Gateway Standard Edition

IGEL Technology today announced that it has integrated the Citrix Access Gateway™ client into its Linux thin client firmware to allow IT administrators to better manage access control and enable users to work more securely from any location. Available immediately, the client allows IGEL devices to be used in conjunction with Citrix Access Gateway Standard Edition and all the management and user functionality it offers. The announcement will be made at Citrix Synergy Berlin (Oct. 6-8), the technology conference focused on virtualization, cloud computing and networking information to help customers build a simpler and more cost-effective IT environment.
Citrix Access Gateway provides IT administrators with a single point solution to manage access control and limit actions within sessions based on both user identity and the endpoint device, providing better application security, data protection, and compliance management. For example, a user may have full access (i.e., read, save locally, print, etc.) to a set of files when utilizing their office PC but may be restricted to read-only access in less secure remote access scenarios such as connecting through an unrecognized kiosk device. Using Citrix Access Gateway, administrators have the ultimate flexibility to develop and implement corporate policies that enforce data and application security.

“The integration of Citrix Access Gateway is further evidence of the numerous advantages that IGEL offers Citrix users,” said Simon Richards, UK General Manager at IGEL. “All IGEL thin clients are Citrix Ready, meaning the hardware is already verified to work with Citrix products. IGEL’s One-click Citrix Appliance Mode means that our devices can be configured as Citrix devices with just one mouse click and our thin clients fully support Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix HDX and Hot Desktop, offering the best user experience with HDX support, multimedia acceleration, local decoding and multi-monitor support.”

Pricing and Availability
The new Citrix Access Gateway client is included in the Standard and Advanced firmware packages for IGEL Universal Desktop thin clients running the Linux operating system (LX). These latest firmware versions are now available for download at www.MyIGEL.com.
