IGEL Technology opens office in Austria and records strong growth in the first quarter

Alexander Ervik Johnsen Cloud, IGEL, Thin Client 2013-04-26

IGEL is stepping up its activities in Austria and now has an office in the Vienna Twin Tower. Led by Julian Meier, Partner Account Manager Austria, the company is looking to further boost its Austrian business from Vienna while offering customers and partners expert services from within the country. Numerous renowned companies, including KTM, the Mayr-Melnhof Group and Tyrolit Schleifmittelwerke (part of the Swarovski Group), already use hardware and software solutions from the Bremen-based thin client specialist. At the same time as opening its new office, IGEL has achieved record results in Austria. In the first quarter of 2013, more thin clients were sold than ever before. Growth was 28% up compared to the same period last year.

By establishing its new branch, IGEL has underlined the importance of Austria as a growth market and one in which cloud/server-based computing and desktop virtualization are becoming increasingly widespread. The new office premises are located in the Vienna Twin Tower and in close proximity to the headquarters of IGEL’s Austrian distribution partner ADN.

“I’m looking forward to the new challenge,” said Julian Meier, Partner Account Manager Austria. “The excellent start to 2013 shows that we are an established player in the Austrian thin client market. The office in Vienna will enable us to work even more closely with our distribution partners and customers here in the area.”

“Given IGEL’s constant growth, the decision to set up business premises in Vienna was a logical step for us,” added Heiko Gloge, Managing Director and Partner at IGEL Technology. “It also provides the basis we need to further increase our market share in Austria and to better cater for the needs of our Austrian customers.”
