Service Provider Adopts Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure to
Optimize IT Infrastructure

Nutanix, a leader in enterprise cloud computing, has announced that SMART Technology chose Nutanix to help consolidate and replace its legacy IT systems to optimize performance, cost and resources. As a result of deploying the Nutanix HCI platform, SMART Technology has been able to cut its backup times by approximately 70% and resource usage by approximately 60%.

Delivering cloud-managed services is a burgeoning need – the market is expected to reach $83 billion by 2025 according to a study conducted by Grand View Research. Managed Service Providers (MSP) are faced with unprecedented competition and are constantly challenged to maintain infrastructure, manage varied customer environments and reduce any downtime. Growing this kind of business is difficult when customers expect enhanced service levels at continually lower prices.

“As a cloud service provider, we can’t afford service interruptions and have to regularly provide customers with a fresh approach to how we deliver our services”. “Nutanix’s HCI supports our demands for efficient customer provisioning and onboarding, offers flexibility to support different software for our customers, and provides a strong foundation that meets our stringent performance expectations for both speed and resiliency. Now SMART’s technical teams are spending fewer resources administering and maintaining multiple virtual environments and analysing performance bottlenecks.”

said Linda Morris, Director of SMART Technology.

Through the deployment of Nutanix HCI software, SMART Technology built an automated and optimized environment that is easily scalable to meet future needs and further delivers on the company’s non-negotiable service level agreements (SLAs). SMART Technology’s technical teams are spending fewer resources administering and maintaining multiple virtual environments and analyzing performance bottlenecks. With Nutanix software customers can choose to deploy their choice of hypervisors from different vendors including Nutanix AHV.

“MSPs need IT solutions that are easy to operate and maintain, to optimize costs, whilst delivering the performance and scalability that customers require” . “By utilizing Nutanix HCI software, SMART Technology has increased performance and stability while reducing the overall complexity of their environment through automation, allowing their resources to focus on serving customers.”

said Dom Poloniecki, General Manager, Sales, Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, Nutanix.

SMART Technology has plans to scale its service platform and is already looking to incorporate additional Nutanix solutions into their IT environment and find ways to better serve customers.
