Citrix Synergy Attendees to See Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity Migrate Users to Citrix XenDesktop in Three Seconds

Solution boasts Zero Agent Install and keeps data in Windows Native Format

Alpharetta, Ga. – May 5, 2010 – Liquidware Labs, the leader in Assessment and User Experience Management for next generation desktops, today announced that the company will demonstrate a Citrix XenApp to Citrix XenDesktop user migration with Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity in three seconds next week at Citrix Synergy in San Francisco at the Moscone Center in Booth #614.

ProfileUnity is a flexible workspace management solution that takes advantage of existing user configurations, profiles, documents, and data, and seamlessly makes them available in any Windows experience at logon. The data is kept in Windows native format – a refreshing approach vs. other environment management solutions which store data in proprietary database formats where it cannot be easily extracted. ProfileUnity also allows for a one-time migration of users or the solution can continue to manage, configure, and provision user environments to provide support for logons to any Windows experience in the enterprise – regardless if the session is XP, 2000, Vista, or Win 7 based.

To migrate to Citrix XenDesktop ProfileUnity is implemented in an existing Windows environment such as Citrix XenApp. ProfileUnity automatically collects existing user profile data, documents, and settings, and saves them to a network location. When the user logs into Citrix XenDesktop, the user’s profile, documents, and configuration, are instantly provisioned and made available at logon.

ProfileUnity advantages over standard profile management solutions include:

•Seamless support of Windows XP, 2000, Server 2003 (v1 profiles) to Windows Vista and 7 (v2 profiles)
•Background document and data migration feature that silently harvests user files from existing desktops
•Full desktop and configuration management, eliminating the need for logon scripting
•Zero touch agent architecture, no desktop software to install
•Application-level settings also migrate (i.e. Microsoft Office 2003 to 2007)

“ProfileUnity’s support of both v1 and v2 user profiles has proven to be a big advantage over many other simple profile solutions,” said Jason E. Smith, VP marketing for Liquidware Labs. ProfileUnity’s flexible workspace design enables users to log into any Windows experience and instantly start working with their familiar profile environment while retaining the data in Microsoft’s own native format. There are no databases to host or manage which makes scalability a non-issue in enterprises with tens of thousands of users.”
