Citrix announces same day support with XenApp and XenDesktop for Windows Server 2016

XenApp 7.11 and XenDesktop 7.11 Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016 now available
Citrix announces same day support with XenApp and XenDesktop for Windows Server 2016. As a part of the tight relationship between Citrix and Microsoft, Citrix has announced that they will have day one support for Windows Server 2016 with XenApp and XenDesktop.

Citrix and Microsoft have been evolving our partnership over this period to address emerging market needs, and have done so with a mindset that not only kept our businesses growing in a challenging economy, but also with the keen understanding that both companies somehow needed to leapfrog our own juggernauts to drive the next decade or so of innovation.

Today’s general availability of Windows Server 2016, and Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop “Day One” support for the new OS, is the starting pistol for a whole new wave of end-user computing innovations to come from both companies.

Citrix is leading the way in smooth migrations for both the Windows Server and Windows Client-based RDS and VDI solutions already in place in most successful businesses today. Day one support from Citrix empowers our customers and prospects to move as aggressively or conservatively as their business dictates, in order to embrace this next wave. Enabling this transition with minimal disruptions to productivity—at the most competitive price and overall ROI/TCO when the complete solution needs by customers are considered—remains a critical consideration in our roadmaps.

Microsoft Windows Server 2016 is an OS born in this new era and it shows.Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop 7.11—and the Flexcast Management Architecture (FMA) upon which they and future versions are based—are also products of the era of the Cloud. The combined Microsoft and Citrix solution presents a massive set of technologies and innovations still in the early adoption phases by most end-customers. This combination is up to the challenge of leading IT evolution for many years to come. Other vendors may attempt to follow our lead, but honestly, they would be more successful investing in other areas instead of trying to re-invent the wheel and failing to deliver, time, and time again.
