Citrix has awarded XenDesktop 5 certification for the entire EqualLogic iSCSI SAN portfolio as we produced XenDesktop VDI certification test results and documentation for PS6100/PS6110, PS4100/PS4110, and PS6500/PS6510 series.

This is a very important milestone for VDI with EqualLogic. Why?

Citrix XenDesktop is one of the leading VDI software players in the market, and Citrix has very stringent criteria for certifying storage platforms for XenDesktop. Only very few storage products have achieved this certification so far.

In fact, a lot of the leading storage vendors are completely missing in the official “XenDesktop certified” list, and some have a subset of their offerings certified. You can verify that by yourself from this official Citrix XenDesktop certification site.

Additionally, Dell have recently published a technical white paper on XenDesktop and EqualLogic: “Sizing and Best Practices for Deploying Citrix XenDesktop on VMware vSphere with Dell EqualLogic Storage.”
