Hosted MobileMail Beta Released
Citrix is pleased to announce the availability of the Hosted MobileMail (formerly Project GoldenGate) Beta. Hosted MobileMail incorporates email, calendaring, and contact capabilities into a single Micro App that runs securely in the data center on XenApp or XenDesktop servers and is delivered to any mobile device with Citrix Receiver. Hosted MobileMail integrates with Microsoft Exchange via Exchange Web Services (EWS) with the mailbox data remaining in the data center, ensuring the data will be both highly mobile and secure.
What is Hosted MobileMail?
Hosted MobileMail (formally Project GoldenGate) incorporates email, calendaring, and contact features into a mobile-friendly Windows application that can be delivered securely to any mobile device with Citrix Receiver from an enterprise datacenter via Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop.
High security – Data is kept in the datacenter, not on the device
Hosted MobileMail integrates with Microsoft Exchange via Exchange Web Services (EWS) with the mailbox data remaining in the data center, ensuring the data will be both highly mobile and secure.
Deploy once, deliver to any device
Hosted MobileMail is managed centrally and delivered via HDX and Receiver across multiple mobile platforms and device form factors without the need to worry about platform compatibility or deployment concerns.
A mobile look and feel hosted on Windows with Citrix
This beta release leverages mobile-focused feature enhancements in Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and Citrix Receiver that optimize the mobile user experience and provide rapid and secure connections/reconnections to hosted applications. Mobile HostedMail dynamically delivers the appropriate user interface layout for smartphones and tablets, ensuring a native-like user experience. As background, Hosted MobileMail is created using Citrix’s Mobile App SDK for Windows and is evolved from the earlier Project GoldenGate tech concept release.
