Nutanix Frame achieves FedRAMP Ready
Nutanix, Inc. has announced that Frame, the recently acquired cloud-based Windows desktop and application delivery service, has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Ready designation for the Frame for Government platform to deliver secure application workspaces on U.S. government approved clouds.
The Frame for Government platform is a Government Community Cloud, providing customers with an isolated, sovereign US-based region for some of the most sensitive US government workloads.
This designation puts Nutanix Frame closer to achieving a FedRAMP Moderate Authorization, which will provide public sector customers with a secure, compliant, high-performance service for running applications in certain public clouds that have been fully certified by the federal government. As part of the authorization process, the Frame for Government DaaS solution will undergo an in-depth assessment and authorization to make sure it meets the high security standards for sensitive U.S. government data.
“Federal agencies face an enormous challenge in modernizing their approach to Enterprise IT and migrating to the cloud. Running applications securely and with high-performance should not add to that burden,” said Jason Holloway, global head of technology, public sector, Nutanix. “Being a public sector entity should not limit customers to onerous legacy applications. We’re proud to achieve this FedRAMP Ready designation so we can securely bring our public sector customers the same one-click simplicity of deployment and access to applications and data from any browser, on any device, that our commercial customers enjoy.”
According to a new report from Market Connections titled, “The Rise of the Multi-Cloud Environment in Federal Agencies,” 44 percent of government IT officials surveyed cited compliance and security requirements as the reason organizations are using more than one cloud platform. The Frame for Government platform is purpose-built for government customers, supporting enhanced security, clientless ubiquitous access, centralized management and hyperscale operations for tens of thousands of users. It provides public sector customers with an easy way to centrally deliver and manage enterprise applications, and requires no plugins or additional hardware. Frame for Government is operated and managed in the AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure Government regions, providing a diverse range of options for delivering Windows and Linux applications. More information about Frame’s FedRAMP Ready designation and the ongoing process to pursue full authorization can be found on the Nutanix Frame blog.
