Sanbolic HA Solution for Microsoft IIS Web Servers available Via AWS Marketplace

Alexander Ervik Johnsen Amazon AWS, AWS Marketplace, Cloud, Sanbolic, Windows 2013-08-20

Sanbolic’s Melio software enabled storage and application availability platform is available as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) via AWS Marketplace for Windows Server website deployments. Melio allows users to cluster and scale out websites on IIS Servers incorporating multiple AWS availability zones, offering a high level of website availability with IaaS economics.

“We recently launched a SaaS offering for our trucking fleet management product,” said Bernie Velivis, Roadnet Technologies. “AWS is a cost-effective cloud platform for our SaaS offering. Sanbolic gives us a great set of tools for building an availability and scale-out cluster for our website. We are confident that we can deliver as our product is adopted by more customers.”

Melio aggregates storage across EC2 instances used as storage nodes while providing enterprise storage and data management features such as RAID, remote replication, Quality of Service (QoS), snapshots and systems functionality through a software layer. Sanbolic’s software provides active-active access to the storage volumes from all EC2 web serving instances, facilitating scale out and availability for end users. In addition, Melio’s agnostic approach to hardware enables support for storage provided by additional third parties.

Melio’s AppCluster component provides a clustering service for the Microsoft IIS web servers running on Amazon EC2. The clusters can span multiple AWS availability groups for high availability, and can be dynamically expanded when needed to support increased traffic and agility, eliminating the need to replicate data.

“AWS Marketplace is delighted to welcome Sanbolic to our ecosystem family,” said Sajai Krishnan, General Manager, AWS Marketplace. “Sanbolic’s Melio offering provides customers with a valuable storage solution for building large, highly available web sites on the AWS cloud.”

“Sanbolic’s Melio product is designed to enable distributed computing while providing availability and scale out of commonly used applications like IIS-based web serving,” said Momchil Michailov, CEO of Sanbolic. “The software provides the same functionality whether running on premise or in the AWS cloud, making it simple for customers to move applications onto AWS to reduce cost, expand capacity or to ensure availability.”

Sanbolic Melio for Windows Server IIS is available now via the AWS Marketplace.
