Citrix XenServer 7.0 and XenApp 7.9 Windows Server 2012 r2 Intel NUC Skull Canyon Iris Pro GPU Passthrough

A demo of Citrix XenServer 7.0 and XenApp 7.9 Windows Server 2012 r2 running on a Intel NUC Skull Canyon with Intel Iris Pro GPU Passthrough GVT-D.

In this video I am showing a Virtual Desktop running on the new INTEL NUC SKULL CANYON. I have installed XenServer 7.0 as the hypervisor and it uses Citrix XenApp 7.9 with the latest VDA 7.9 running. I am using Heaven Benchmark 4.0 and Vally Benchmark 1.0 to generate GPU usage. The INTEL Iris GPU is running with gpu passthrough with XenServer 7.0. Monitoring details about performance is with the use of Goliath Performance Monitor.

First part of the demo, Unigine Heaven 4.0 is running Thinwire Plus, the second with Unigine Valley 1.0 is running Thinwire H.264 – this to show that both work…

The Intel NUC Skull Canyon is running this HW:
Intel NUC6i7KYK i7-6770HQ
Kingston Hyper-X SSD 480 GB PCIe Gen2x4 M.2 – SHPM2280P2/480G
2 x 16GB Module – DDR4 2133MHz – Part Number: KVR21S15D8/16 Specs: DDR4 , 2133MHz , Non-ECC , CL15 , 1.2V , Unbuffered , SODIMM
