Accelerite now owns CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager product lines.

In a move to better support it’s customers, it is the right time to enter into an agreement with Accelerite, a provider of infrastructure software for cloud, mobility and endpoint solutions, to acquire the CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager product lines. Accelerite is the products business of Persistent Systems (BSE & NSE: PERSISTENT), a global leader in software product development and technology services, with more than 8,000 team members worldwide.

Citrix states that they are extremely confident that Accelerite will help nurture their customers who are heavily invested in running their public, commercial clouds on these solutions and will allow Citrix to focus on our core priorities around the secure delivery of apps and data.  Accelerite has been successful in acquiring numerous product lines from other large companies, such as HP, Intel and Openwave, to grow cloud computing and virtualization software products.  Citrix will work closely with Accelerite to build on CloudPlatform integrations with XenServer, NetScaler and Citrix Workspace Cloud.

Citrix say they are to focuse on their core priorities around the secure delivery of apps and data and will work closely with Accelerite to build on CloudPlatform integrations with XenServer, NetScaler and Citrix Workspace Cloud.

Citrix says that their cloud strategy is dedicated to supporting a range of technologies that enable customers to choose the right cloud for their needs – public, private or hybrid.  Citrix will continue to work with both the OpenStack and CloudStack open source communities to ensure our products are optimized for offerings based on those projects.  Core product offerings in Citrix ‘s cloud computing portfolio include NetScaler, XenServer and Citrix Workspace Cloud.

The acquisition by Accelerite is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in Q1 2016 – and will enable them to provide customer support and carry forward, enhance, sell and support the CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager product lines.
