AppSense, the people-centric computing company, today announced AppSense Labs made a first time angel investment in Collaaj, a data centric technology company.

Founder Kiran Kamity Appointed Entrepreneur in Residence at AppSense

Collaaj enables enterprise users to easily capture, share and collaborate with rich data, such as voice, video and screen recordings. The move accelerates the AppSense Labs mission to experiment with and support new technology that further enables Enterprise Consumerization. Kiran Kamity, Founder & CEO of Collaaj, will also join AppSense Labs as an Entrepreneur in Residence to further expand understanding and knowledge sharing of today’s enterprise users and IT environments.

“We understand there is a need for new technologies to address IT challenges with Enterprise Consumerization,” said Darron Antill, CEO of AppSense. “Investing in the development cycle of Collaaj further provides another possibility for embracing all forms of data that users are creating and sharing in the mobile enterprise. AppSense is also fortunate to have the privilege of expanding entrepreneurship within the company with Kiran on board to share insights and ideas.” The AppSense investment in Collaaj advances a vision to enable Enterprise Consumerization through people-centric computing. Allowing users access and control of data and applications is a key challenge for CIOs and enterprise IT organizations. Collaaj will allow enterprise users to capture, share and collaborate with rich data, such as voice, video and screen recordings easily. Multimedia formats have changed the way users communicate or package sales and marketing materials, resulting in a more informed and engaged customer base. In addition, rich data provides competitive differentiation to IT helpdesk and post-sales support, with faster issue resolution, lesser trouble ticket volume and therefore, increased customer satisfaction. “I am excited about this investment to evolve and bring Collaaj to market and work with AppSense to showcase entrepreneurship,” said Kiran Kamity, Founder and CEO of Collaaj. “AppSense is fueling a greater awareness of Enterprise Consumerization with people-centric computing. At Collaaj, we are excited to build rich data solutions that embrace enterprise consumerization with cutting edge multimedia and cloud technologies that will further provide users the freedom to communicate and collaborate in innovative ways.”

Kiran Kamity is the founder & CEO of Collaaj and former co-founder of RingCube Technologies, Inc. which was acquired by Citrix in 2011. He has close to fifteen years of expertise in creating and building novel and valuable technology products and taking them to market. Kamity holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and holds a BS in Material Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
