AppSense Launches Certified Specialist Program

Alexander Ervik Johnsen Appsense, AppSense Certified Expert, AppSense Certified Professional, AppSense Certified Solution Partner, AppSense Certified Specialist, AppSense UVP, Arrow ECS, Cerfification, User Virtualization Platform, UVP 2011-09-21

AppSense, the leading provider of user virtualization technology, today announced the AppSense Certified Specialist program with the global leader in computer-based testing for information technology, Pearson Vue. As the second tier of its three-tier global certification program, the specialist certification program is designed to increase and benchmark competency while validating an IT professional’s ability to implement, configure, and administer the AppSense User Virtualization Platform (UVP). The AppSense UVP decouples the user layer from any native PC or virtual desktop, capturing this user-specific ‘digital personality’ into a centralized management framework. The UVP then delivers this personality, along with related IT-defined policies, on-demand to any point on an organization’s desktop and application delivery infrastructure – physical and virtual.

The three tiers of the certification program require a combination of classroom sessions, practical hands-on use and shadowing of live projects. The certifications are:

  • AppSense Certified Professional (ACP): This level measures a user’s ability to configure and administer the AppSense UVP.
  • AppSense Certified Specialist (ACS): This new program is for advanced users of the AppSense UVP and is one of the requirements for the AppSense Certified Solution Partner (CSP) program. Entrants to the program must pass a series of examinations and staged projects in order to achieve the relevant level of certification. In order to enroll for ACS accreditation, candidates must first receive the ACP accreditation by successfully completing the supporting training course and examination.
  • AppSense Certified Expert (ACE): This level demonstrates a user’s ability to perform complex implementations and configurations of the AppSense UVP.

“We are focused on providing the best training and education possible to allow our users to truly understand the technology and therefore take full advantage of our comprehensive solutions,” said Dmitry Shkliarevsky, head of Professional Services, US at AppSense. “The new Certified Specialist program is one example of this, and we’re extremely pleased to be partnering with Pearson Vue to deliver it as we educate and train an ever-growing number of users on how to best implement our user virtualization technology.”
