Arrow ECS Launches Pan-European Virtualization Initiative Throughout Europe

PARIS, May 04, 2010 –Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. [NYSE: ARW], unveiled a pan-European virtualization program, the “Five Levels of Virtualization” to assist resellers with expanding their virtualization business.
The Five Levels of Virtualization program combines virtualization technologies that span system infrastructure, including desktop, application, server, storage and network solutions. With the new program, Arrow ECS will help resellers understand the interactions and relationships between the different layers of a virtualization infrastructure. The program better enables integrators to sell the full spectrum of technology in the virtualization ecosystem, including Check Point, Citrix, EMC, HP, IBM, NetApp, Riverbed, Sun Microsystems, Symantec, VMware and WYSE, all of which are distributed through Arrow ECS, among other solutions.
Comprising sales training, technical support and marketing resources to identify and pursue virtualization opportunities for midsize- to enterprise-class infrastructure, the program helps resellers optimize technology assets, reduce operational costs and simplify information technology asset management and administration operations for their customers.
“Arrow ECS brings significant channel and market reach, along with a comprehensive portfolio of many of the industry’s leading solutions, to the virtualization market,” said Laurent Sadoun, president of Arrow ECS’ Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Arrow ECS delivers virtualization solutions from complete prepackaged virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution-sets to complex data storage environments solutions. “As a value-added distributor with a strategic focus on channel management, our goal is to enable resellers to pursue cross-selling opportunities to increase their market share and revenue in this growth sector. Arrow ECS is managing the channel by interconnecting virtualization technology and enabling integrators to provide their customers with the solutions they need.”
The program was launched initially in the United Kingdom and now has been implemented in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Sweden based on the positive response and demand it generated. The program will be expanded to other European markets in the coming months.
Resellers can contact their Arrow ECS sales representatives for further information about the program in their country, or they can send an e-mail to solutions@arrowecs.eu.
In addition to the 5 Levels of Virtualization program, Arrow ECS’ EMEA offices also are offering several forums, certification courses and training opportunities to help resellers build their virtualization expertise. Examples of upcoming educational opportunities offered by Arrow ECS include “2010 Virtualization Inspiration Day” on May 4 in Sweden (www.inspirationday.se), a multicity “Virtual Tour” held May 11-27 at locations throughout France (www.arrowecs.fr) and a two-day event on May 18-19 in Germany regarding desktop solutions that are complementary to Citrix XenDesktop and VMware, among other virtualization environments (www.arrowecs.de).
