Kaviza is a next generation virtual desktop company founded by virtualization and VDI leaders from HP, IBM, and venture-backed start-ups. We started Kaviza to address the cost and complexity we saw with first generation VDI approaches. VDI today is an extension of full-blown server virtualization, and hence is very costly and complex. As desktop workloads are very different from server workloads, we saw an opportunity to offer an inexpensive, easy-to-use VDI solution at a fraction of the cost.

So, we designed Kaviza’s solution from the ground up to address the specific needs of desktop virtualization. Kaviza’s team of Ph.D.’s with expertise in fault-tolerant distributed computing developed a desktop-specific scaleout fabric that seamlessly scales on commodity hardware. We abstracted and automated the virtualization management and provisioning so that administrators can focus on what they care about – their users, and their desktops.
