Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop Lync Skype HDX Optimizationpack architecture version 2

Citrix has released a Receiver 4.4 version, which now includes the HDX RealTime Media Engine 2.0. The HDX RealTime Media Engine is a plug-in to the Citrix Receiver to support clear, crisp high-definition audio-video calls, particularly with Microsoft Skype for Business. Users can seamlessly participate in audio-video or audio-only calls to and from other HDX RealTime Media Engine users, native Skype® for Business and Lync client users, and other standards-based desktop video and conference room systems. The HDX RealTime Media Engine is available for Windows, Mac and Linux devices. For Windows devices, it is also available together with the Citrix Receiver in the bundled package (single download, single install) below.

Please note that one of the big news in version 2.0 is that all SIP signaling is handled exclusively by the SfB client. Also note that you can still download the Citrix Receiver 4.4 standalone without the
HDX RealTime Media Engine 2.0 bundled.
