Lanamark Offers Free IT Asset Discovery, Search and Reporting Tool for Physical and Virtual Infrastructure
Lanamark Suite Express Edition Helps Enterprises and Solution Providers Jump-Start Desktop and Data Center Optimization Projects
TORONTO – May 6, 2010 – Lanamark Inc., a global software provider of desktop and data center optimization solutions across physical and virtual infrastructure, today announced Lanamark Suite Express Edition. The new edition, to be previewed during the Citrix Synergy 2010 conference next week, enables enterprises and solution providers to gather IT asset inventory from up to 50,000 systems, search physical and virtual machines, and generate management reports across desktops and servers. Lanamark Suite Express Edition is free and can be used perpetually by enterprises for internal projects and for ongoing visibility into IT assets. It can also be used and distributed to customers by solution providers during pre-sales and professional services engagements.
“Lanamark enabled SJ Berwin to quickly identify server consolidation opportunities and justify the benefits of virtualization,” said Duncan Appleby, Technical Architect at SJ Berwin LLP, a leading international law firm. “Lanamark Suite took minutes to install and provided us with comprehensive visibility into our IT environment using an agent-less approach that did not compromise the security and compliance of our systems. Beyond initial discovery and reporting, Lanamark Suite is now being used for planning, architecting and optimizing virtual infrastructure at SJ Berwin.”
Lanamark Suite Express Edition is available free of charge to enterprises and solutions providers. It enables discovery of Windows, Linux, NetWare and UNIX workloads across desktops and servers. Users can also collect inventory information from virtual machines and virtual machine hosts running Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware ESX. Once IT assets are discovered, Lanamark Suite Express Edition offers free-form search across physical and virtual infrastructure as well as business-centric IT infrastructure reporting online.
“Redapt Systems is actively using Lanamark Suite to deliver virtual desktop and data center capacity planning services,” said David Cantu, Vice President at Redapt Systems, a leading IT management solution provider in the United States. “The Express Edition enables us to establish project plans, scope and timelines through comprehensive discovery of users, workloads, physical machines and virtual infrastructure in each customer’s IT environment. After project completion, customers can continue using Lanamark Suite Express Edition at no additional cost.”
Lanamark is sponsoring Citrix Synergy 2010 in San Francisco on May 12-14. Representatives from Lanamark and Redapt Systems will showcase Lanamark Suite and capacity planning services for desktop and data center optimization in booth 516. Lanamark Suite Express Edition will be generally available on June 15, 2010. To learn more, pre-register or participate in the Lanamark Early Access Program, please visit www.lanamark.com/express.
“Whether you are starting an internal IT project or commencing a professional services engagement with a customer, having a complete view of IT assets and trends is vital for budgeting, project planning and risk management,” said Mark Angelo, CEO of Lanamark. “Using the Lanamark Suite Express Edition, enterprises and solution providers have a free software solution for systematically embarking on desktop and data center optimization initiatives across physical and virtual environments.”
