Citrix Synergy Berlin 2010 – RES Software today announced RES Dynamic Desktop Studio, a software suite developed to help organizations move towards more strategic and cost effective IT as a Service models. The Dynamic Desktop Studio combines RES Virtual Desktop Extender (VDX), RES Workspace Manager (formerly RES PowerFuse) and RES Automation Manager (formerly RES Wisdom), including its new Service Orchestration Module. Service Orchestration handles IT service delivery and return based on business rules and self servicing, a missing link for most organizations.

“While most businesses are familiar and agree with the Microsoft Infrastructure Optimization model that leads IT organizations to a dynamic state, it’s often hard for them to know which steps to take to actually get there”

“While most businesses are familiar and agree with the Microsoft Infrastructure Optimization model that leads IT organizations to a dynamic state, it’s often hard for them to know which steps to take to actually get there,” said Klaus Besier, Chief Executive Officer of RES Software. “RES Dynamic Desktop Studio is a clear and simple roadmap for organizations to execute dynamic and future-proof desktop infrastructures that fully align IT with the needs of a business. Our new Service Orchestration Module makes this finally possible.”

RES Software works with an organization’s current infrastructure regardless of their choice in application delivery, operating system, or hardware — even in a mixed environment, making it possible to adopt Dynamic Desktop Studio without any infrastructure changes.

RES Dynamic Desktop Studio includes:

  • RES Virtual Desktop Extender (VDX): Newly available as stand-alone product, patented and proven reverse seamless VDX technology provides the unique ability to enhance a virtual desktop with applications that run locally, eliminating the need for users to log into multiple sessions to access applications that can’t be virtualized.
  • RES Workspace Manager: Allows IT to centrally manage and dynamically create a computing environment that provides optimized access to applications, data, printing and personalized settings based on the user’s needs and the system’s requirements. The solution is Microsoft Windows OS and application delivery independent. It eliminates scripting, and zero-profile technology solves profile challenges.
  • RES Automation Manager: Enables IT professionals to deliver any set of changes to Microsoft Windows environments, whether hosted, virtual, or web-based and automates provisioning of IT resources, all from a single console.
    • New Service Orchestration Module: Add-on to Automation Manager uniting with Workspace Manager to automate employee on boarding/ off boarding, handle self-servicing requests, resource provisioning and migration or decommissioning of applications.

To learn more about Dynamic Desktop Studio, visit RES Software (booth #201) at Citrix Synergy Berlin, October 6-8 at the Estrel Hotel and Convention Center.

The launch of Dynamic Desktop Studio coincides with the unveiling of a new website, RES Software brand identity, product packaging scheme and partner portal. RES Workspace Manager is the new name for RES PowerFuse user workspace management solution, and RES Automation Manager is the new name for the RES Wisdom run book automation solution.
