Sanbolic®, Inc., a leading developer of software for shared storage and enhanced management of virtual and cloud-based solutions, has announced a new member to the Melio 2010™ product suite series called Melio VDI™, which is targeted specifically for Citrix® virtual solutions.  Melio VDI extends the benefits of virtualization to the storage layer, providing scalability and high availability for Citrix solutions such as XenDesktop® and XenApp™.

Sanbolic Melio 2010 significantly reduces the costs associated with building a flexible, scalable and robust storage foundation that can support a virtual desktop infrastructure of any size. Melio 2010 offers a seamless growth path eliminating the need to make all hardware purchases upfront, allowing organizations to realize a faster return on their investments in VDI. The Melio 2010 shared storage solution provides high availability during the deployment, use and scale-out of a VDI environment.

Said Jed Ayres, SVP, Partner Management and Marketing at MTM Technologies, “70% of customers attending our 19 city Virtual Desktop Alliance Roadshow with vendors such as Citrix and Sanbolic are considering a scalable storage solution that provides HA for their VDI deployment.”  More information on MTM’s Virtual Desktop Alliance can be found at www.virtualdesktopalliance.com

Melio VDI provides high availability and simplified management of XenDesktop and XenApp virtual workloads (VHDs), as well as high availability of PVS databases using active-active SQL Server clusters. Solid performance is achieved via multiple active-active data paths to the storage and data protection is ensured through centralized snapshots of shared volumes. A fully-automated DR solution that ensures HA across sites will also be included as an update to Melio VDI later this quarter.

Melio VDI is sold through Certified Sanbolic Sales Partners worldwide.
