AppSense Exceptional Growth Results in Microsoft Managed Partner Status
Elevated status with Microsoft confirms user virtualization market leader continues to surge forward with 50-plus percent annual growth and $70M investment from Goldman Sachs
Microsoft TechEd, AppSense booth #701 – AppSense, the leading provider of user virtualization technology, has been elevated to a Managed Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner status by Microsoft Corp. The company was previously a High Potential Partner since 2009.
“User virtualization will become an important category for the enterprise. We believe that every company will be challenged with a mix of physical, virtual desktop and application delivery technologies”
Less than five percent of Microsoft ISV partners achieve Managed ISV Partner status, a category reserved for high-growth companies with significant joint revenue potential. As a Managed ISV Partner, AppSense will work closely with Microsoft to ensure its popular user virtualization platform enhances and extends the enterprise user management capabilities of Microsoft System Center, Windows Server and Windows Client. User virtualization significantly reduces the IT burden and cost associated with onboarding and deploying users on enterprise desktops, especially during migrations and deployments of new desktop and application delivery technologies.
“User virtualization will become an important category for the enterprise. We believe that every company will be challenged with a mix of physical, virtual desktop and application delivery technologies,” says David Roussain, AppSense’s vice president of Strategic Technology Alliances. “Ensuring IT pros successfully manage users across these technologies is key to ensuring on-time rollouts with zero user disruption. Most companies redesigning their desktop architecture to take advantage of new, more efficient technologies such as Windows 7 and Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) find that user-related challenges can become an obstacle to deployment.”
“We are pleased to see AppSense extend Microsoft’s User State Virtualization to deliver enhanced capabilities that help customers manage their employees’ data and settings across physical and virtual environments. The combination of AppSense with our Desktop Virtualization technologies, such as App-V or VDI Suites, can enable customers to move to Windows 7 even more quickly,” said Karri Alexion-Tiernan, director of product management for desktop virtualization at Microsoft.
AppSense recently received a $70 million investment from Goldman Sachs for market expansion and new product development. Currently staffed with 300 employees, the company anticipates adding 150 new staff in 2011.
