Version 6 delivers cloud application protection for Office365, Salesforce, Google Apps etc. combined with a cloud centric SMS PASSCODE server and one-time-password delivery platform. Version 6 also introduces a new modern password reset module.

Copenhagen, November 10th, 2011 – SMS PASSCODE – The recognized technology leader in two-factor authentication based identity protection, today announced a new version 6 that delivers the industry’s first end-to-end cloud authentication solution designed to take advantage of the flexibility and ease of use of cloud services. Specifically, it includes standardized cloud application protection for applications such as Microsoft Office365, Salesforce and Google apps via Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services: It includes support for global real-time delivery via SMS, voice or secure e-mail.  Finally, it supports any SMS PASSCODE server to be deployed in any private or public cloud configuration.

The release also marks the arrival of SMS PASSCODE Password Reset Module, a new product in the SMS PASSCODE family for easy, secure user password reset. This module is the first delivery of a series of modules under a new Platform Extension strategy. 

Public and private clouds services are now rapidly gaining commercial adoption.  At the same time, just this year, there is a wave of new threats putting traditional legacy identity protection solutions such as two-factor authentication tokens and certificates under immense pressure.  SMS PASSCODE® version 6 addresses both these industry trends with a new version offering end-to-end cloud support that still delivers the more secure login process, SMS PASSCODE has been internationally recognized for.

Specifically, the new solution introduces a set of new capabilities:

•    Cloud Application Protection with Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services
The new Application Protection server client is the first solution supporting the new Microsoft ADFS 2.0 for easy, transparent two-factor authentication for Microsoft Office365 as well as SAML protected cloud applications such as Salesforce, Google Apps etc.

•    End-to-end cloud platform
SMS PASSCODE has been on a journey since version 3, where the loosely coupled cloud architecture was first introduced with our Service Provider program. This has now been extended with integration to cloud based services such as the voice call and sms delivery service from Telesign and the USB key from Yubikey. Finally, in this release the offering is rounded out with our Cloud Application protection support.  This has been delivered to customers transparently over the past releases without any impact in terms of ease of upgrade.

•    Modern password reset module represent new product extention
Users lose their virtual identity either due theft or they simply forget their password. SMS PASSCODE has offered a strong defense against identity theft and with the SMS PASSCODE® Password Reset Module, we now extend the secure login process to encompass secure password reset in case a user has forgotten it. The solution takes advantage of our private passcode for secure reset as described in more detail on our web page.

•    New enhancements
Other enhancements includes a new generation of our brute-force and denial of service attack feature that leverage a multi-factor attack detection technology further augmenting our core secure login process with more ancillary capabilities.
