AppSense Names Keith Turnbull as Vice President of Global Development
NEW YORK – August 15, 2011 – AppSense, the leading provider of user virtualization technology, announced today it has named Keith Turnbull as vice president of global development. A recognized global strategist with deep industry expertise, Turnbull will be responsible for driving AppSense’s global development strategy and continuing to build its world-class development team. In this new role, he will work closely with AppSense CTO, Harry Labana, and the global executive team to further establish the company as the leader in user virtualization technology.

A 30-year veteran of the software industry, Turnbull spent the last 13 years in executive development and engineering roles at Citrix, joining the company through the acquisition of Insignia Solutions, an x86 emulation company. During his time at Citrix, he successfully grew existing development teams as well as setting up sizeable new product teams from scratch and taking on new sites through multiple acquisitions. Turnbull has led teams of up to 500 developers and was responsible for many of the core product teams that achieved great success in their lifecycle; most notably scaling up Citrix XenApp to a strategic $1 billion plus product and delivering the first versions of XenDesktop. He was most recently vice president of worldwide development for HDX and Receiver products at Citrix, working on a wide variety of desktop and mobile platforms including the iPad, Android, Playbook and TouchPad. Before joining Citrix, Turnbull managed teams for Electronic Design Automation companies and led innovative design teams at Fairchild Semiconductor, National Semiconductor , TfL and Land Rover. He holds a masters and bachelor degree in Engineering from Cambridge University.
