Arrow ECS, RES Software Sign Agreement to Bring Adaptive Desktop-Management Solutions to Channel

Alexander Ervik Johnsen ArrowECS, RES Software, User Environment Manager 2010-08-19

Arrow ECS becomes first distributor for RES Software in North America

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., and PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 19, 2010) – Expanding its footprint in the channel, RES Software has signed an agreement exclusively authorizing Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. [NYSE: ARW],  The agreement marks the first time that RES Software will work through a North American distributor to deliver its solutions to market.

Through the agreement, Arrow ECS will distribute the full suite of RES Software solutions, including its workspace management and automation solutions that simplify the complexity of information technology and provide optimized access to the data, applications, printers and other devices that they need to be productive, regardless where they are logging in.

RES Software helps break down today’s complex desktops into independent pieces that are much simpler and more cost effective to manage. Using RES Software, organizations can analyze, simplify, automate and manage every user’s experience through one console. Its solutions result in an IT environment that supports change because a user’s workspace is isolated from the hardware and underlying operating systems.

RES Software products are highly complementary to VMware and other virtualization technology for cost-effective and efficient virtual-desktop solutions,” said Bill Botti, president and chief operating officer for Arrow ECS’ Alternative Technology group. “These solutions enable resellers to deliver more complete solutions to their customers while also increasing revenue opportunities through add-on sales.”
RES Software resellers in North America will now be supported by Arrow ECS for presales, quoting and configuration assistance. They also will have full access to Arrow ECS’ comprehensive marketing, engineering, financing and training services.

“RES Software is pleased to work with Arrow ECS to expand our channel footprint in North America, a key part of our expansion strategy in this market,” said Jim Kirby, president, Americas of RES Software. “As a leading value-added distributor, Arrow ECS will bring increased supply-chain efficiencies and market-share opportunities for RES Software. For our existing resellers, this agreement represents an opportunity to gain a higher level of support to better serve their customers and enable them to grow their business. Further, it provides increased access to complementary lines that Arrow ECS distributes, such as VMware and an array of hardware, software, security, networking and virtualization solutions.”
