Citrix has announced that it has been evaluated by Gartner, Inc. for its NetScaler solution, the market-leading application delivery controller used as core infrastructure for some of the largest cloud providers in the world, and positioned in the leaders quadrant in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) report authored by Gartner analysts Andrew Lerner, Mark Fabbi, Danilo Ciscato and Joe Skorupa, for the ninth consecutive year.
According to Gartner, Inc. “a Leader exhibits the ability to shape the market by introducing additional capabilities in its product offerings and by raising awareness of the importance of these features. Key capabilities for a leader in this market revolve around enterprise application functionality. We expect a leader to have strong or growing market share and to have solutions that resonate with an increasing number of enterprises. We expect leaders to release ADC capabilities (deployment models, features, pricing models, etc.) well in advance of the mainstream enterprise demand. A leader must exhibit expertise in complex enterprise application environments and offers a range of deployment models.”
Ash Chowdappa, Vice President and General Manager, NetScaler at Citrix, says that “Citrix is honored to be recognized by Gartner for the ninth consecutive year in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for ADCs. Citrix NetScaler holds the clear number-two position in ADC market and is the only application delivery controller vendor that offers a comprehensive solution, including SD-WAN/WAN virtualization. The combination of these capabilities offers a unique ability to provide end-to-end application assurance and optimization. Citrix NetScaler is a strategic core component of the company’s overall strategy for secure workspace, desktop and application delivery for any app, over any network, in any location. The Citrix delivery networking vision has proven to be well-aligned with our customers’ demands for their businesses today. This vision enables them to transform to meet the future needs for business agility and the accelerated shift towards a fully-automated software-defined application, network and datacenter infrastructure. These trends are in play in our cloud service provider and large eCommerce customer-base, as well as early adopters in the enterprise market.”
As noted in the report, “the key criterion in this Magic Quadrant focuses on the vendor’s ability to provide products and services that solve complex application deployment challenges. Success in this market goes beyond features. It involves a deep understanding of how the elements of applications perform across the network and how emerging network and application deployment options, such as network fabrics, SDN and cloud services, will change ADC deployment models.”
