vArmour and Nutanix teams up to simplify and secure Hyper-Converged Infrastructure
vArmour, the data center security company that transforms how organizations protect their virtualized and cloud assets, today announced a new partnership with Nutanix, the web-scale, converged infrastructure company, to offer workload-level security to private clouds. This partnership enables enterprises to employ fine-grained security for cloud-ready applications through a “distributed everything” infrastructure. As an inaugural member and Nutanix Ready certified partner, vArmour has entered the Nutanix Elevate Technology Alliance program to disrupt and innovate next generation data centers.
The transformation of the data center into flexible, on-demand private clouds has empowered organizations to move faster than ever before, but has also opened the door to new threats and cyber attacks. As a result, enterprises require security controls to be at every layer of the data center stack, from hardware, to hypervisor to workloads. As converged, compute and storage resources move to on-demand, security must follow suit and easily scale-out to protect those resources with greater agility for every enterprise.
“Building simple and secure next-generation data centers requires new approaches and technologies based on distributed systems,” said Keith Stewart, VP of Products for vArmour. “vArmour and Nutanix are working together to disrupt the status quo and help secure the world’s most complex infrastructures. This partnership will help Fortune 1000 enterprises transform their data centers from legacy hardware stacks into software-defined private clouds that are scalable and secure, protecting critical workloads and applications.”
Combined, the vArmour and Nutanix distributed solution delivers comprehensive security by adding application-level protection from vArmour to hardened Nutanix cluster environments. The partnership will make it easier for enterprises to deploy and manage secure, cloud-ready infrastructure to support their most demanding, business-critical applications.
“We have been so impressed with the cost savings and ease of use that the Nutanix hyper-converged compute and storage architecture has provided our enterprise customers,” said Yuan Wang, practice manager at EVT. “With Nutanix and vArmour joining forces, we are able to provide our customers the best of both worlds for next-generation data center and security delivery models.”
Nutanix and vArmour share the core values of creating a distributed, hypervisor-agnostic system that delivers compute, storage and security in a scalable, extensible manner. As an Elevate Technology Alliance partner, the vArmour Distributed Security System (DSS-V) has achieved Nutanix Ready certification for Networking and Security. This technical certification validates vArmour’s ability to wrap granular visibility and control around workloads running on Nutanix, and enables customers to deploy vArmour security as they deploy new workloads on Nutanix appliances.
“We are pleased to be working with vArmour to deliver an added level of security for private and hybrid cloud environments running on Nutanix,” said Venugopal Pai, Vice President, Alliances and Business Development, Nutanix. Using vArmour’s Distributed Security System on Nutanix infrastructure, customers will be able to fully protect their most critical applications and meet stringent security standards.”
Similar to the free Nutanix Community license, vArmour recently announced a free version of the DSS-V Distributed Security System to provide data center visibility for all. Organizations can now easily download and launch vArmour DSS-V to visualize their complex application traffic in 15 minutes. With Nutanix Community and vArmour DSS-V, IT professionals can take the first step to build a secure next-generation data center for free. To request a download of vArmour DSS-V, visit here.
